Changes and Why

“I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread.”

– Bilbo Baggins

I bit off more than I could chew and it shows. I started this patreon by doing a few things well a few days a week. I then doubled the d4 tables and micro-adventures. Soon after I started doing a daily webcomic (yeah that wasn’t my best idea…). All that on top of my growing responsibilities in the real world.

Due to the insane quantity of material I was shooting out into the world, the overall quality of that material suffered. I hate that so I felt like some changes were in order.

Trimming

I have deleted the webcomic. It was a time sink that wasn’t helping me hone my game writing or art I make for you all. I also will be returning to the single D4 and micro-adventure post per week. This will free up a metric ton of time for me to improve the material I actually publish for you all.

I do imagine that I’ll still make ‘bonus’ material as inspiration strikes, but I can better manage my time and actually take it to make sure what is produced is quality work and not a rushed job.

What that means for the Patreon Tiers

Overall there isn’t much change for what everyone gets. The postcards and playing cards will still be voted on and distributed monthly. The only real change is with the d4 and micro adventure posts. I’m changing them up so that they are ‘early access’ for patrons a full week before they go public for everyone. Since I feel that devalues the mephit tier, all ‘bonus’ material I make will be patreon exclusives.

Thank You

I am very new to this whole creative/business thing, and balancing work and life hasn’t exactly been easy, but you all have been so supportive. I can’t thank you all enough for how awesome you all have been as I’ve muddled through it. 2020 has been. . . brutal. . . and I know several of you also carry bruises from the unforgiving year, and that just makes me more thankful for the support you all have given me.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,
